More incorrect corduroy 'hazard' tactile paving on the A8 cycleway at Inchinnan. This should be of the 'cycleway' type in the foreground, and of the red pedestrian crossing type (in the correct formation) at the toucan crossing (which is … [more]

Incorrect corduroy 'hazard' tactiles used at Inchinnan, in place of the correct 'cycleway' type.

The ramp to exit Knockhill Park at Bruce Road is tricky to cycle up, but this will form part of the Renfrew to Paisley cycle route once it is finished.

Turn right off main road on to continuation of cycle route is poor and needs making much safer.

Approaching the end of the Hillington Park cycle route shared footway on Mossland Drive. The section beyond Huntly Road is a dead-end and does not connect with anything. It does not even have a dropped kerb from which to join the … [more]

Footways on both sides of Mossland Road are signed as cycle routes, but the far side has the wrong type of sign for the type of cycle route. The footway then just ends in a bush. No dropped kerb to cross.

The final section from the riverside path up to Inchinnan Road is quite steep, with a barrier at the top. See also #170232.

A section of tree root damage on the riverside path, next to the golf course. There was another smaller area of tree root damage over next to the River Cart.

This footway was once upgraded to a shared-use cycle route.

The cycle crossing waiting area on Abbotsinch Road. See also #170247.

A closer look at the cycle crossing waiting area on Abbbotsinch Road.

It is without explanation, but I believe the thing on the left is to allow cyclists to pull in and wait to cross to the shared footway on the right. See also #170247. The ban on right turns presumably didn't take into account the route of … [more]

Speeding traffic makes it too dangerous to cycle on. Reduce speed to 20mph maximum as road is too narrow

Lots of cyclists use Glasgow Road here - there is plenty of room for cycle ways

What is going on here? There is a shared use sign but not clear if that refers to the pavement leading towards Hairst St or what

Junction improvement, parked vehicles & road layout encourage drivers to overtake cyclists turning right onto road that leads to cycle path

Cycleways required the whole way along Paisley road in Renfrew and Renfrew road in Paisley in both directions to allow commuting to and from Braehead, Renfrew ferry links, Paisley town centre and train travel links

The main road through the village could be partially cordoned off to allow safe cycling, particularly between the cycle path and the village park.

There is no safe way to cycle from Renfrew to Paisley

The path running parallel to the A8 needs swept to restore the full width. There’s also an access with kerbs which need to be removed / levelled.

Cyclepath required to encourage cyclists who are heading for quieter roads having come across the bridge

Tree root damage on the path alongside Ben Nevis Road.

Tree root damage on the path alongside Ben Nevis Road.

The path has no connection to Barrangary Road, but instead curves around and the first connection with the road network is at Forge Crescent.

After a brief piece of asphalt at the railway access point, the path reverts to a soggy soft surface for the unexpectedly steep climb.

A newly built soggy wet path alongside the railway in the southern part of Dargavel.

A soggy wet path to Bishopton station from the new housing development. All of the roads have asphalt or paved surfaces, so why this for the main path?

A soggy wet path from Bishopton station to southern Dargavel.

Faded footway cycle route (which only goes around the corner and into the supermarket) starts without a dropped kerb, and faded on-road cycle lane.

Rather than continue the short distance to connect up with the cycle path from Lochwinnoch station to the village, the roundabout-avoiding cycle path just gives up with a dropped kerb and a lit 'End of Route' sign. The footway gets so … [more]

Poor quality roundabout-avoiding facility on the A737 at Roadhead Roundabout.

The only sign that indicates that the cycle route is on the footway, and these two didn't realise that the route went straight on here rather than following the road around the bend.

This shared-use footway is far too narrow, but space on road wasted with hatching! No dropped kerb for crossing side street either.

One of Renfrewshire's beautiful cycle paths. Designed to be used to cross the road and onto the shared use path which begins on the other side. Awful surface and full of litter.

Worn out cycle markings and poor drainage on path in Barshaw Park, at level crossing with miniature railway

Cyclists have not been considered in the revised road layout. These traffic signals have been installed without any provision being made for the cycle route, possibly because there wasn't any special provision before the junction was … [more]

The two-way cycle track used to be protected by bollards, but they've been removed, leaving cyclists cycling into on-coming traffic with no separation. The road markings are badly worn, so there is little to tell motorists to stay off this … [more]

The two-way cycle track is not linked into the junction, it just ends and cyclists have to find their own way across. None of the crossings are toucan crossings and the road is one-way.

Random start to pavement cycle track along Mossland Drive, with no dropped kerb at start. The adjoining Hillington Road is a far busier road and has no cycle facilities, not even at the motorway junction.

Narrow path linking to riverside promenade near Braehead Shopping Centre - quite a contrast from #30585

Give Way to a fence! It would be more appropriate to put the Give Way in at the road crossing, which is closer to a blind corner off to the left.

Current end of Paisley to Barrhead cycle path. Handy for the bus stop. Roughly midway between Paisley and Barrhead. UPDATE June 2014: The path to Barrhead has now opened. http://www.eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=5142 … [more]
