A Recommended Route for Cycling. Prepare to join the Glasgow Airport cycle route from Renfrew. Things will change here when this area is redeveloped for a new business park.

Beware of Cycles, this way and that. Abbotsinch Road.

'Traffic calmed area' - Really? In what way? This must be a very important sign, since it has been provided with a light!

I was about to categorise this as 'good practice' but then noticed the sign appears to show that the 'Airport Cycle Route' goes straight on while NCR (National Cash Register?), Town Centre and Railway Station are to the left.

Are cyclists meant to cycle through the hatching?

The two-way cycle track used to be protected by bollards, but they've been removed, leaving cyclists cycling into on-coming traffic with no separation. The road markings are badly worn, so there is little to tell motorists to stay off this … [more]

The two-way cycle track is not linked into the junction, it just ends and cyclists have to find their own way across. None of the crossings are toucan crossings and the road is one-way.
