[Image taken 29.5.21] Station Avenue/Station Road, York. There were more people wanting to pass through the gap than there was space available. They had to wait. I sat here for 15 minutes and counted nearly 400 people heading towards or coming from the gap under the city walls. This is the main route from/to the train station. There are also people displaced from the riverside route by the diversion for the Lendal flood gates works plus people on NCN65, the Transpennine Trail, people trying to reach Rowntree Park, get to/from the centre over Lendal or Ouse Bridges… Queuing pedestrians here see also: #169854.
